Success in Denver for Amazing Sally

September 10th, 2009 by tonyc

Despite major preventive surgery in May, Sally did the Komen 3-Day with vigor and much support from friends and family. Congrats! Rumor now is that both Sally and Ron will do next year’s Philly trek.

If you know of any of Patti’s friends or your friends or family doing the 2009 Philly 3-Day, please let me know so we can add our support. Thanks.

The Wilmington Walk is moved. The participation, coverage and funds raised have increased dramatically since this event got started a few years ago. Your help is greatly appreciated, and most of all, we hope to see a large gathering of Patti’s friends. Thanks to Renée for the update

Save the date for the Making Strides walk in Wilmington, DE. There is a NEW location this year. It will be at Rodney Square which is in Wilmington. More information to come later.

Pete graduated college.

May 17th, 2009 by tonyc

Patti would be proud of her brother. As parents, we are proud, too. All four siblings graduated college as ambitious, productive workers with a great value on friendships: Patti - Drexel University & Penn State University MBA, Barb - University of Delaware, Gina - St. Joseph’s University, and now Pete - Loyola College of Maryland.

While the current economy presents a serious challenge to his first goal of finding meaningful employment, we have no doubt that Pete, like his sisters, will continue to be successful and happy with wonderful friends.

Sally doing well

May 12th, 2009 by tonyc

Prayers and good thoughts do help…..Sally’s major surgery went well last Thursday, and she was not only home on Saturday, but went to church with the family on Sunday. Amazing, but not really surprising, Sally is planning on doing the Denver Komen 3-Day in August. More to follow on that.

Not only will our Patti be honored in this epic event this coming October (more to follow for your donation), but Kelli and Jeannette our planning to do this in 2010, so save up. Maybe you care to join them? It’s an inspiring and worthwhile display of support and solidarity.

Friends United for the Cure successful May 3, 2009

May 3rd, 2009 by tonyc

Despite the rain that thinned the turnout, there were plenty of racers and walkers with creating sunshine with their smile. New babies from Robyn, Gina, and Kim were terrific additions to the happy gathering of wonderful friends. It was great seeing all of you again. Thanks for donating, too.

Your prayers and support for Sally and family, please.

Komen 3-Day an incredible success.

October 18th, 2008 by tonyc

Pictures posted in the album. Many, many thanks to Patricia, Cassandra, and all the Tri-State Valley Girls for this wonderful accomplishment. It was a wonderful day at the Komen cheering station. After 4 hours, I had to leave, but the Walk was still in progress. Amazing. About 99% were female, and 99% were smiling, some were in obvious discomfort, but all were encouraged by the cheering.

See below for more info including the link to the Team members.
